Enrollments

  • Domestic and international organizations that wish to provide application services in research, education, welfare, and administrative areas to Korean research and educational institutions can participate in KAFE as Service Providers.
  • Korean research and educational institutions intending to use services from KAFE-participating Service Providers can join KAFE as Identity Providers.
  • For KAFE participation:
    • Identity Providers must establish an KAFE authentication server
    • Service Providers must have their web services supporting SAML 2.0
      Authentication server deployment available through KREONET technical support.

Available application services

Members of Korean academic and research institutions participating in KAFE as Identity Providers can securely log in to Service Providers using their institutional username and password.

  • Service licenses must be obtained by individual institutions.

Status

  • As of 2024, 33 Korean academic and research institutions have participated in KAFE, along with 78 service providers. Through eduGAIN, the international federation service, over 900 services are interconnected.
  • We are collaborating with domestic research communities such as K-BDS (Korea Biodata Station) and KRSRC (Korean Research Square Kilometre Array Regional Centre) to interconnect large science infrastructure based on federated authentication and access management technologies.
