KREONET Backbone Interconnection
To access the KREONET, institutions must connect through one of the 18 regional network centers distributed across Korea. This connection is typically established via a dedicated line between KREONET regional network center and institution from a commercial Internet service provider (e.g., KT, SKB, LGU+), or through the institution’s own private network linked to the nearest regional center.
IPv4/IPv6 Address Allocation
KREONET serves as an authorized IP address management agent, holding 492,288 IPv4 addresses and 16,777,216 IPv6 addresses. These address resources are allocated to KREONET member institutions based on their intended use within the research and education network
