Performance Enhancement Guidance
KREONET supports various scientific research projects domestically and internationally through its high-performance network. It also provides Performance Enhancement Guidance (PEG) to help researchers transfer large-scale scientific data at high speed over the network.
High-Speed Data Transfer Guide
KREONET has optimized data transfer performance for numerous domestic and international scientific experiments through years of interaction with researchers. To help others enhance their data transfer capabilities, foundational documents on data performance improvement are shared in a dedicated space on the KREONET Wiki.
High-Speed Data Transfer Guide (Korean)
This guide recommends separating research computational cluster servers and data transfer servers (DTN, Data Transfer Node). It introduces the following requirements for building a DTN:
- Kernel Tuning : Adjusting Linux kernel network parameters for high-speed networks.
- Transfer Tools : Introducing open-source software specialized for high-speed transfers, such as HPN-SSH and GridFTP.
- Benchmark Results : Sharing actual benchmark results based on specific hardware specifications.
Science DMZ
In networking, a DMZ refers to an area composed only of trusted equipment without security devices. The Science DMZ is a network architecture designed to maximize data transfer performance by allowing only minimal equipment and reducing security devices to the bare minimum.
Consultation Requests and Inquiries
네트워크 성능이 이상한 경우, 우선 다음 두 문서를 참고하여 자체적으로 문제를 해결할 수 있습니다. KREONET 에서도 상기 문서에 기반하여 문제를 해결합니다.
For assistance with building a Science DMZ or other technical support related to high-speed data transfer, a separate consultation with the KREONET office is required.
